Blackberry-licious Brambles

And the first ones have ripened - as discovered by the Labrador on a walk yesterday, the blackberries on some of our south-facing hedges are black and juicy and ready to pick.

Is there anything better than a blackberry crumble? With homemade custard from fresh eggs? Though perhaps not easy to make on a campsite!

How about blackberry stuffed baked apples? Just hollow out the centre of a cooking apple (leaving the bottom skin intact), stuff with blackberries, some butter and sugar (brown is best in my opinion), wrap the whole thing in foil and bake at the bottom of your firepit whilst you're eating your main. Add some cream for extra luxury.

Brambles are fantastic for wildlife, providing food and shelter for many birds, insects and small mammals.

Our much-loved original Yurt is named after the Bramble, as one of our native hedgerow plants, which thrive in the Pembrokeshire climate.

Bramble Yurt was our first and original glamping pitch, and has a double bed, 2 single fold-out sofa beds, and room for a 5th person (as a cot or a single z-bed style). It has a log-burner, an outside firepit and barbecue, but we really love the kitchen cabin, with seating, prepping and cooking facilities for the whole family. It has its own private flushing toilet, just a few steps away, easy parking, as well as use of the rest of the site.

Over the last 4 years Bramble has become a firm favourite for its privacy, whilst also being very close to all the facilities at Quarry Park.
